Types of Sites
TYPES OF SITES
First – I design a unique look for each of our clients reflecting their overall branding and customer sensibilities.
Next – I try to avoid old-fashioned HTML pages and instead develop and design your site in PHP code that conforms to W3C standards. Sound like a lot of gobbley-gook? Don’t worry, it’s more than you need to know… but I thought you should know.
Finally – My goal for every business Web site I develop is to “make YOU money.” A Web site should pay for itself. This means:
- attracting new customers who want to take the next step to get in touch with you
- selling items or services from your Web site through an easy to use e-commerce store
- being hired for a service or talent
Standard Web sites
(I do the updating*)
includes:
- full artwork design and code development integrating your text, logos, photos and links
- integration of search engine optimization tags based on your best knowledge of what you think your customers might use to find you on Google and Yahoo.
- I help you get your domain names and hosting set up at affordable and customer service friendly locations
- I would like for your new Web site to be live for about 3 months (to allow for minor adjustments and tweaking free of charge) before we go into maintenance mode. Then I am here when you need additions, changes and updates. My Web site maintenance rate is $65 an hour. I bill in 15 minute increments, if the tasks only takes 15 minutes, I only charge for that portion. Many developers automatically bill you for a half hour of time whether your needs take 5 minutes or 15 — that’s just not fair.
Content Management System Web sites
Do you want the freedom to handle your own updates?
A business Web site should not turn into a time consuming project or hobby for you. But I do believe that every client should have the tools to keep their site updated and not feel they are harnessed to the web developer. I give you your freedom through a content management system Web site*, AND I am always standing by to help you out should you need it.
*After I set it all up with all content, you can do the the future updates – I teach you how.
- Up to 25 pages initially set up which will include:
- search engine optimization area so that you are in charge your internet find-ability on Google, Yahoo, etc.
- video and music upload capability
- photo galleries
- downloads for your customers and clients
- RSS feeds
- social networking links
- dynamic events & appearance calendars
- news & blog posts
- membership login
- password protected pages
- social network link integration such as Facebook, Twitter, Linked In, more…
- and more . . .
- I’ll add a full e-commerce system should you want to sell products or services.
- population of your top categories
- shipping and payment modules
- or if you are a Realtor or Broker, your MLS Listings can be auto-fed into your Content Management System.
- parsed into as many MLS listing variations from your MLS listing service as you feel necessary
- Includes an interest rate calculator
- Includes an MLS Search form from your MLS listing service
With every BRAND NEW Web site development project:
- I will guide you in reserving a domain name (your web site address.) A domain should cost you no more than $12 a year.
- Is this your first Web site? I will set up your web hosting where ever you would like. I have suggestions for companies with hosting that run about $69 a year and they have super customer service.
Is this a re-design of an existing Web site?
- If you like your hosting, that’s great. But if I think you can be saving money, I will help you set up hosting at a less expensive provider with solid customer service.
- If you already have a domain name, I will review your existing costs, if I think you can do better somewhere else AND you want to switch, I will handle the transfer headaches free of charge.
I am here to make it easy
Whatever you would like. You provide the content and I’ll design and develop.
